About Julia Mistele

I am a fine artist based in the Greater Toronto Area, working primarily in oil paint. As a recent graduate of McMaster University, I am focused on continuing to grow my practice and on developing a personal visual language built on deep observation and appreciation for the everyday.

I’ve been a visual artist for as long as I can remember, and my mediums and process have evolved over time. I started with coloured pencils, gradually moved into acrylic painting, and now primarily work in oil. I’m especially drawn to the richness of the colours and the way in which layers can be built with oil paints.

My work comes from a love of beauty and a belief that it can be found in countless places. Through my art, I hope to share my lens of the world with you!
